Samsung does not include suitable chargers with its smartphones. You have to buy a suitable charger separately, which is not that easy with Samsung due to the PPS issue.
Of course, Samsung also offers its own chargers that are “guaranteed to be compatible”.
The current “bread and butter” charger from Samsung is the EP-T2510, which is specifically designed for the Samsung A series, at least on paper.
But what does it look like in practice? How good is the Samsung 25W charger compared to the older EP-TA800 and the models from Anker and Ugreen?
Let’s find out in the test!
EP-T2510 and EP-TA800, 2x 25W from Samsung
Samsung currently offers two 25W USB C chargers, the older EP-TA800 and the newer EP-T2510.
Both have the same power on paper at +- 25W. What are the differences? At first glance, especially the dimensions.
The EP-T2510 is much more compact and lighter than the older EP-TA800. The EP-T2510 measures 38 x 22 x 29.5 mm, making it very compact.
The weight of 52g is light, but not extremely light either.
Let’s compare this to a few other chargers:

The design of the charger is very simple. But the quality is good!
EP-T2510 connections
The EP-T2510 has exactly one USB C port.
USB C – 25W USB Power Delivery – 5V/3A, 9V/2,77A
Samsung uses the normal USB Power Delivery charging standard for this charger. Accordingly, it is also compatible with other manufacturers. In principle, there is nothing wrong with using the EP-T2510 in combination with Apple or Google smartphones.
However, with an output of 25W, this is tailored quite specifically to Samsung smartphones, especially the A models.
Of course with PPS
PPS is a very important issue in Samsung smartphones. PPS is an optional extension of the USB Power Delivery standard, which is important for Samsung smartphones to achieve full charging speed.
3.3V to 5.9V at up to 3A 3.3V to 11V at up to 2.7A
Stress test
I subjected the EP-T2510 to a stress test. I loaded the charger with 25W for about 5 hours to check whether the charger could withstand it.
And there are no negative surprises here, the charger survived this time without any problems.
Which smartphones are suitable for?
In principle, the Samsung EP-T2510 is a normal USB Power Delivery charger.
This means it can be used for Samsung, Apple, Google, Xiaomi, Huawei, etc. smartphones, as well as the Nintendo Switch, for example.
However, with 25W, this is of course tailored to Samsung entry-level/mid-range smartphones, such as:

Efficiency of the Samsung EP-T2510
Samsung advertises the EP-T2510 with the logo “Energy Efficiency”, which is intended to indicate that it is particularly efficient. But is this true?
In the test, the efficiency fluctuated between 84.7% at low load and 87.7% at full load. These are reasonable values at first glance, but let’s compare the values with alternative models.
Phew! The efficiency of the EP-T2510 is certainly not bad, but in comparison it is worse than I would have expected.
Even the “old” Samsung EP-TA800 is a bit more efficient.
Conclusion
The Samsung EP-T2510 is certainly not a bad charger! If you get this at a fair price and you have a Samsung smartphone, why not.
In terms of quality, the “original” chargers are always a good choice (in terms of safety and durability).
However, the EP-T2510 doesn’t stand out apart from its compact dimensions. For example, in terms of efficiency, the older Samsung EP-TA800 was even better for me, just like the Anker 511 Nano 3 and the Anker Nano II 30W.
So I would compare some prices here:
I would tend to prefer the Anker Nano 3 or EP-TA800 as long as the price difference is not too big.
