GOG Teams Up with Amazon’s Luna for Cloud Gaming Access
GOG, the popular gaming platform owned by CD Projekt, has recently announced a partnership with Amazon’s Luna to enter the cloud gaming market. This collaboration will allow players to stream games from Amazon’s cloud servers through a variety of devices, including PCs, Macs, Android and iOS mobile devices, smart TVs, and Fire tablets.
Players will simply need to install the Luna app on their preferred device and ensure it is connected to the Internet to access specific games purchased on the GOG platform. Additionally, players can use Luna-compatible controllers, such as Xbox One and PS4 controllers, to enjoy their gaming experience.
According to GOG, this partnership will enable players to stream games they own on the GOG platform through Luna, including popular titles like the “Witcher” series and “Cyber 2077”. While not all games from GOG’s complete library will be available on Luna initially, more games are expected to be added in the coming months.
One of the key benefits for players is the seamless integration between Luna and GOG. Players who purchase games through Luna will also have those games appear in their GOG game library. Furthermore, games purchased through Luna will still maintain GOG’s “DRM-free” policy, allowing players to enjoy features like cloud archiving and achievement unlocking through the GOG Galaxy service.
Although an official launch date for this collaboration has not been announced yet, both companies have indicated that the feature will arrive “soon”. It is important to note that this cooperation will be limited to regions currently supported by Luna, which include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
Players and gaming enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the potential benefits and convenience that this partnership between GOG and Luna will bring to the cloud gaming market.
