News from our favorite smartphone brand Fairphone: The Dutch social business Fairphone is now offering a comprehensive camera software upgrade for the Fairphone 4.
While other smartphone manufacturers completely discontinue support and updates at a certain point in the product life cycle, Fairphone is setting new standards in terms of longevity with the upgrade.

With the help of customer feedback, the Fairphone 4’s camera software was revised, significantly improving the image experience. The team focused in particular on four important aspects:
Faster shooting time: Fairphone has reduced first shot time by 230% and improved autofocus speed. In addition, the shutter lag has been massively reduced and the time from one shot to the next has been increased by 50% from 12 to 18 shots in ten seconds.

Better Low-Light Photography: Improving low-light photography was another key focus for the company. Fairphone has managed to achieve even more contrast and detail, especially in Super Night mode.

Improvement in camera settings: Fairphone has also significantly improved the settings of the main and ultrawide cameras for photos and videos as well as the AI scene recognition. Likewise, noise reduction and color matching (for both the main and ultra-wide cameras) have been improved and the main camera’s zoom has been sharpened.
