Greentech startup 42watt is collecting additional millions for the decarbonization of buildings

The green building specialist 42watt has big visions: The greentech startup from Bavaria ultimately wants to make Germany’s building sector climate-neutral by 2045 – and is now receiving further funding for this: 42watt was able to raise an additional amount in the mid-single-digit million range in its seed financing round.

The expansion follows an already oversubscribed seed round in September 2023. The lead investor in the round is Eneco Ventures, supported by existing investors such as PT1 and BonVenture as well as Contrarian Ventures, OBI Squared Ventures and better ventures.

42watt’s goal remains to advance the decarbonization of existing buildings in Germany and Europe.

2watt is the solution for the climate-neutral renovation of existing properties and was developed by Marcus Dietmann and Dr. Jörg Überla founded. The vision: Germany’s building sector should become climate neutral by 2045 – by reducing energy consumption per square meter to less than 42 kWh per year. Founded in Munich at the end of 2021, 42watt is a clean tech start-up that enables all property owners to renovate their building easily and safely.
