RisingWings, a South Korean independent studio under Krafton, has announced exciting updates for their real-time strategy tower defense mobile game “Defense Derby.” The May version update introduces new systems and modes to enhance the gaming experience for players.

One of the major changes is the transformation of the existing alliance system into a faction alliance. Players can now select a specific faction and build their decks in the competition mode. The alliance is divided into factions, allowing for more interaction between players and leveling up evenly. Additionally, the level-breaking mode in the lobby has been changed to a two-player mode, supporting cooperative play where players must protect the castle stone from monster attacks together.

The “Soul of Dawn” season brings a new magical unit, “Ancient Zhenni,” from the elf faction to the battlefield. This melee range attack unit has a special ability called Power Punch, which can deliver damage based on the hero’s attacks and temporarily incapacitate monsters. Players can obtain Ancient Zhennis through various activities and packages, including the competition brawl “Ancient Gods Mirror Mode” from May 4th to May 6th.

On May 16th, another new human unit, “Psychic,” will be introduced to the game. This magical unit is designed to disrupt opponents and comes with two cats, Didi and Bodo, who trigger special abilities called Psychic Activity. Didi restores the opponent’s leading monster’s health, while Bodo deals damage to the player’s leading monster. A brawl mirror mode for Psychics will be available from May 18th to May 20th.

In addition to these updates, players can participate in a puzzle activity from May 16th to May 30th. By completing tasks and collecting puzzle pieces, players can earn rewards such as legendary unit summons, gems, blocks, and crystals.
