STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl Release Date Postponed to September 6

Ukrainian developer GSC Game World has announced that the highly anticipated apocalyptic survival FPS “STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl” has been postponed to September 6. The game, which has been in development for several years, has faced numerous challenges including natural and man-made disasters such as the Russia-Ukraine war. As a result, the release date has been postponed once again, with September 6 determined as the “final” release date.

In a tweet, GSC Game World thanked fans for their feedback, stating “Whether it is positive or negative, we are grateful for it.” The developer emphasized that they will seriously consider players’ opinions and make adjustments to game areas, equipment, and more based on feedback.

The decision to postpone the release was attributed to technical flaws that were discovered at the beginning of the year, which did not meet the expectations of players and fans. “Havoc 2” focuses on first-person shooting gameplay, with players taking on the role of a stalker navigating the Chernobyl restricted area after the nuclear explosion.

The game promises hundreds of weapon combinations, mutated creatures, and human adversaries, as well as anomalies and powerful artifacts. However, after a public display of 15 minutes of actual gameplay at Gamescom 2023, “Havoc 2” received mixed reviews, with criticism aimed at stiff animations, AI shortcomings, and cumbersome warehouse management.

In order to address these issues and ensure a smoother improvement process, GSC Game World has postponed the release to September 6. “Havoc 2” is scheduled to be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S. Fans are urged to stay patient as the developers work to enhance the gaming experience.
