Despite the challenges it faced after the United States government’s veto, HUAWEI has managed to strengthen its position and is now among the top 5 mobile manufacturers in China. The company’s resurgence is evident in its incredible sales growth, placing it fourth in sales and posting a 47% year-on-year increase.
After the lifting of certain restrictions by the United States government, HUAWEI has been able to re-launch its 5G mobile phones and regain its position as a leading player in the global smartphone market. The company has set ambitious goals for 2024, aiming to sell 10 million folding phones, signaling its intention to reclaim the top spot in the smartphone industry.
In the highly competitive China market, HUAWEI’s reemergence is particularly noteworthy. With over 73.9 million units sold in the last quarter of 2023 and aggressive marketing campaigns, the Chinese market has seen a resurgence with local brands dominating the top positions.
HUAWEI’s impressive growth in the China market has positioned it among the top players, with a significant increase in sales. Notably, Apple led the market with 17.5 million units sold, followed by Honor and vivo. However, HUAWEI’s rise to the fourth position is a clear indication of its recovery.
According to Canalys analyst Lucas Zhong, HUAWEI’s success in the China market can be attributed to innovative features in its products, such as the Mate 60 Pro, which utilizes self-developed Kirin chips and innovative functionalities like satellite calling.
