Manifesto for collective action on artificial intelligence and robotics

Premise

The rapid development of artificial intelligence and its convergence with robotics is a historic opportunity and at the same time an unprecedented challenge, with a still unpredictable social impact. In addition to the misalignment between job supply and demand, which hinders the countryā€™s development and competitiveness, we are facing another even deeper gap: the growing distance between awareness of the scenarios in which we live and complex technological transformations.
This Manifesto is a call to action, aimed at organizations and people to collaborate in the creation of a long-term collective initiative that has as its principles:

1. unity is strength
2. Excellent skills facilitate a leadership role
3. young people at the center guarantee a far-sighted perspective on work, education and the future of the country
4. inclusion and equity ensure that the benefits of artificial intelligence and robotics are for everyone, avoiding further inequalities, exclusions and poverty.

The priority actions to be taken

Develop a medium-sized Italian initiative
and long term, always guaranteeing maximum inclusion and the reduction of any inequality.

2. Sharing

3. Education

4. Teaching innovation

Offer training support to teachers with innovative teaching tools, also useful for understanding the global challenges linked to new technologies.
