A few days ago the 2024 edition of MIR – Live Entertainment Expoevent organized by Italian Exhibition Group and dedicated to the entire world of live music and entertainment. This year too we returned to find out more about the news in this sector and learn about all the most interesting and engaging news.
MIR 2024, three areas to explore for all the news
This year the event was mainly organized in three areas. The first, defined ME Clubwas dedicated as it is easy to imagine from the name to the world of clubbing and DJing. In addition to a meeting area populated by many interesting panels (including one in particular which we will talk about in more detail later in the piece) there was a large Experience Areawhere you can test out all the new features for your sets.
The second area is the Live You Play, which we have not included in the list below simply because it is now a constant, but it is still impressive. Two pavilions rebuilt as a concert area: you walk through a door and you’re there in front of a stagewhere you can actually see and hear all the equipment, without needing to imagine the final effect.
And last but not least we find the area MIR Tech, also in 2024. It is a large exhibition space, distributed over several pavilions where we can see all the stands of the main exhibitors and brands from the world of live entertainment, in every possible sense. From lights to audio systems, from smoke machines to projectors, through LEDs, video walls, scaffolding and even barriers for the crowd.
The very special ones deserve a special mention Immersive Rooms. Here we will be able to witness more specific demos of some particularly innovative products, united by the objective of creating complete immersive experiences, between audio and video. A journey through the senses for discover all the best offers even better of this world so vast and rich in innovation.
So what was so good about it?
This year too we returned to MIR 2024, venturing through the corridors of this very exciting event. We looked for the most intriguing gems of this edition and discovered many innovative proposals, between products, meetings and experiences. Are you ready to learn more? And then below you will find the list of five things that struck us most in our exploration!
The Columns Contest
One of the first attractions that welcomes us to MIR 2024 is the so-called Contest Column. This is an exhibition of the most important vertical sound diffusion systems, compared to each other. Whether they are on stands, columns or something else, we can carefully evaluate their capabilities, making all the necessary comparisons. Precisely this attention to detail, even in such a specific and niche sector, is an excellent business card for the event. We know that we are dealing with those who really want the best.
Twinkly, the LEDs that put on a show
The entire central section of MIR Tech was occupied by the large Audioeffetti exhibition space, one of the leading distributors in the live entertainment industry. Here many brands were able to show their proposals and it was absolutely fascinating to find oneself immersed among laser projectors, smoke machines, pyrotechnic effects and much more. A continuous show enveloped us.
But what stood out above all else for us was the display of Twinkly, a smart LED lighting application that really needs to be seen to be understood, more than the photos can convey. This is a product extraordinarily versatile, relatively simple to install and manage, but with a guaranteed impact. To keep an eye on, both for the live world and for any other application.
An immersive experience with Audio Link
We talked about the above immersive room and naturally in our exploration we did not miss this experience. Among the various proposals, we chose the one presented by Audio Link who guided us to discover his sound systems in depth, showing us the many different applications they can offer.
With the support of 4Dodo to graphic design, we were able to live an immersive experience that went from a simple presentation to a reconstruction of a conference (demonstrating the advantages of audio with attention to every aspect in professional contexts) up to more unconventional applications, such as artistic installations. Another reality to keep an eye on even beyond MIR 2024.
The laser show offered by Molpass
Walking among the stands, we noticed one that it quickly intrigued us, also because he organized short shows, with starting times to be respected. We queued up, eager to find out what he was hiding behind those doors and we were absolutely not disappointed.
Headphones (from silent disco, so to speak) to our ears, we witnessed an exceptional light show, even more so in a trade fair context, albeit a special one like MIR 2024. The aim was to demonstrate all the potential of the many lighting systems distributed by mole pass and it was a real journey. A very rich portfolio, which we were able to experience in a concrete way and which absolutely impressed us.
Getting dismantled by Albertino, Big Fish and other illustrious guests
We close our journey through the folds of live entertainment with the Demolition Panel staged at MIR 2024. It was a unique opportunity for new talents from the world of techno, house, dance music and more to compete with some of the names that have marked this scene or who know it like the back of their hands.
A jury whose members alternated throughout the afternoon, passing from Albertino ad Ale Lippiyes Big Fish a Joe T. Vannelli, judged the songs brought by emerging artists. All with an irreverent and disruptive spirit. Because ultimately what really matters in these cases is to accept criticism and learn from it.
And so our journey through the corridors of MIR 2024 ends. The world of live entertainment has once again proven to be full of ideas and possibilities and is a universe that continues to grow year after year. We are already looking forward to the next edition, where we can’t wait to find out what awaits us…
