Nvidia is launching three new graphics cards: the RTX 4070 Super, the RTX 4070 Ti Super and the RTX 4080 Super. One of the cards is even better than expected – because Nvidia didn’t really pay attention to the technical data.
Nvidia RTX 4070 Super has more L2 cache than expected
Nvidia is releasing new graphics cards. After there had already been a number of rumors and leaks in advance, the graphics card manufacturer unveiled its three new high-end models at CES:
RTX 4070 Super
RTX 4070 The Super
RTX 4080 Super
At the same time, Nvidia also announced the technical data of the cards in the form of a press release. However, a small error crept into the RTX 4070 Super. Because the graphics card was announced with only 36 MB L2 cache.
However, this information has now been corrected (source: Nvidia). The RTX 4070 Super comes with: satte 48 MB L2-Cache used, so the bottom line is 33 percent more than the non-super version. In addition, the number of shader computing units increases compared to the normal RTX 4070 5,888 to 7,168.
In addition to the raster performance, the ray tracing performance potential should also increase. The bottom line is that Nvidia is aiming for an increase of with these changes up to 15 percent in the frame rate of games at. However, it remains to be seen whether this value can actually be achieved. The test embargo for the RTX 4070 Super is scheduled to end on January 16, 2024.
When will the new Nvidia cards appear – and how much do they cost?
Nvidia doesn’t release all of its new graphics cards on the market at the same time. Instead, the company has opted for a staggered release plan.
First up is the RTX 4070 Super, which is available on… 17 January 2024 should appear. Nvidia calls as RRP 659 Euro on. It appears on January 31, 2024 for 1,109 Euro.
