The global release of OnePlus 12 and 12R is set for January 23, we have known this for some time. By now, we know practically every detail of the two smartphones, but these live images of OnePlus 12R they are the first ever: this is what the flagship killer of the Chinese giant will look like.
The images are reported by GSMArena, which explains that it has retrieved them from the portal of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States, which has already OnePlus 12R certified for USA, further confirming its global release. Not that there was too much need, since OnePlus itself announced the OnePlus 12R for the global market in December, explaining that it will be released at the end of January together with its “big brother”.
The device passed by the FCC has a 5,500 mAh battery and Android 14 as its own operating system, together with the OnePlus OxygenOS 14.0 custom ROM. Regarding the other specifications of the device, however, the listing is silent, even if the OnePlus 12R technical sheet appeared online some time ago, confirming that the smartphone will have one Snapdragon 8 Gen2 as its SoC, a RAM of up to 16 GB and a storage of up to 512 GB.
Coming to the images, however, the latter show that OnePlus 12R and OnePlus Ace 3 will be identical. OnePlus Ace 3 was launched in China on January 4th and is the Chinese version of the flagship killer due out on January 23rd, which will receive a rebranding ahead of the western launch. On the back of the device, therefore, we find a triple-camera system accompanied by two LEDs for the flash: the lenses will be one 50 MP main camera f/1.8, an 8 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle and a 2 MP f/2.4 macro.
The second image, however, shows us the front panel of the device, confirming the presence of theiconic alert slider by OnePlus on the left, while on the right we will have the volume button and the one for turning the device on and off. The OnePlus 12R screen – whose specifications were revealed a few days ago – should be slightly curved at the edges and should feature a 16 MP selfie camera with punch-hole technology in a central position. The panel, however, will be a display OLED LTPO4 da 6.78″ with resolution of 1,240 x 2,772 pixels and refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
