TWR Performance Unveils Supercat: A Tribute to the Past and Vision of the Future

British engineering company, TWR Performance, has recently launched a new supercar that pays homage to a classic coupe while pushing the boundaries of performance and design. The TWR Performance Supercat is a stunning reinterpretation of the Jaguar XJS, inspired by endurance racing cars from the 1980s.

The Supercat is equipped with a supercharged V12 engine that can produce up to 600 horsepower, a significant increase from its predecessor, the 1988 XJR-S. The car also features a manual six-speed transmission, enhancing the interaction between the driver and the vehicle for a more engaging driving experience.

Designed by digital designer Khyzyl Saleem and Porsche tuner Magnus Walker, the Supercat’s exterior has been radically redesigned to evoke the sleek and aerodynamic look of endurance racers. The use of carbon fiber throughout the body not only improves performance but also adds a touch of modern beauty to the classic design.

From the large splitter and air intakes at the front to the diffuser and spoiler at the rear, every aspect of the Supercat’s design serves a purpose in enhancing aerodynamics and stability at high speeds. The interior, though not fully revealed, promises a blend of classic and modern elements for a visually stunning and comfortable driving experience.

Developed over two years by a team of experienced engineers from top racing teams, including McLaren, Ferrari, and Porsche, the TWR Performance Supercat is a limited edition model with only 88 examples being built. Priced at £225,000 (approximately NT$9.15 million), deliveries are set to begin before the end of the year.
