Blizzard Announces Stricter Penalties for Overwatch 2 Leavers
In a move to crack down on players who frequently leave games early, Blizzard has announced new, harsher penalties for Overwatch 2 leavers.
Leavers in unranked mode will now face bans of up to 48 hours, while those in competitive mode will face even stiffer penalties. Players who leave 5 consecutive games in a row recently or 10 consecutive games in a season will be banned for the entire competitive season.
But that’s not all – Blizzard is also implementing other changes to improve the player experience. Teams of four players will no longer be able to queue up for competitive matches, and solo players will now be matched with only solo players or small teams. The “Avoid as Teammate” feature has also been improved, allowing players to avoid up to 10 others and rank them based on how much they want to avoid them.
Additionally, Blizzard promises faster reporting and better ways to limit abuse in chats.
These changes will start rolling out next week when Season 10 launches, with more features to follow as they are developed.
Hopefully, these new measures will help create a more fair and enjoyable experience for all players in Overwatch 2.
