Prison Architect 2 Faces Second Delay, Set to Release on September 3rd

Fans of the popular simulation game Prison Architect will have to wait a little longer for the highly anticipated sequel, as Prison Architect 2 has suffered a second delay in its release date. Originally set to launch on March 26, the game was pushed back to May earlier this year. Now, publisher Paradox Interactive has confirmed that Prison Architect 2 will finally be released on September 3rd.

The decision to delay the game was made after the publisher encountered stability issues related to memory usage. In a statement provided to Eurogamer, Paradox Interactive explained that unexpected issues occurred during stability testing on the latest version of the game, especially on low-spec configurations.

Once the issue was identified, the development team began working to improve the way Prison Architect 2 utilizes memory in order to address the situation. While the effort was successful in improving the game’s performance on lower-spec machines and consoles, it introduced new technical challenges, resulting in a significant increase in crashes on other PC configurations.

Despite these setbacks, Paradox Interactive emphasized their commitment to delivering a high-quality gaming experience for fans of the series. The publisher stated that a version of the game has been certified and is ready for release on all platforms, with the new memory usage system expected to significantly enhance the overall gaming experience.

“We wanted to deliver the best possible sequel to such a beloved game, and we didn’t want to cut any corners,” Paradox concluded in their statement. With the September 3rd release date now set in stone, Prison Architect fans can look forward to diving back into the world of prison management in just a few more months.
