Blizzard Entertainment Teases Launch of Unannounced AAA Game

In a surprising turn of events, Blizzard Entertainment seems to be gearing up for the launch of a new AAA game, despite the cancellation of their previously developed survival-type game, code-named Odyssey. The cancellation was a result of Microsoft’s layoffs and adjustments earlier this year.

Current external recruitment information from Blizzard Entertainment reveals that the new game will have positions available for roles such as creative director, design director, combat-related artificial intelligence system, senior art director, senior special effects artist, and narrative director. While the game description remains a mystery, it has been hinted that the game will feature story content made up of multiple seasons, indicating continuous updates to keep players engaged.

Blizzard Entertainment has a history of utilizing existing assets in new games, and there is speculation that the new game may be based on their classic franchises such as StarCraft or Warcraft. Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft’s Xbox business, has expressed interest in seeing Activision Blizzard’s classic games re-launched, further fueling rumors of a new game release.

Neither Blizzard Entertainment nor Activision Blizzard has officially confirmed the launch of a new game. However, fans are hopeful that the upcoming June event will not only feature highly anticipated titles such as “Gears of War 6”, but also unveil new games from Blizzard Entertainment. Stay tuned for updates on potential new game titles from Blizzard Entertainment.
