Blizzard Entertainment‘s “Strike” Enters New Territory: Playable on 3DS

After 8 years of success with the first-person shooting game “Strike,” Blizzard Entertainment has pushed the boundaries even further with the launch of “Strike 2” in 2022. This new version offers a 5v5 battle environment and free play, taking the game to a whole new level. While Blizzard has not announced plans to bring the game to mobile platforms, one player has managed to bring “Strike 2” to an unexpected place: the Nintendo 3DS.

In a Reddit thread, a player known as Mot0193 shared their experience of playing “Strike 2” on a modified Nintendo 3DS while in the hospital. Despite some challenges such as the low resolution and poor joystick operation, Mot0193 successfully got the game running smoothly on the handheld console.

“Playing on the 3DS has its limitations, but it’s a fun alternative,” Mot0193 shared. “I’m exploring different ways to improve the gameplay experience, such as utilizing the touch screen for controls.”

The Reddit post sparked mixed reactions from the “Strike 2” community, with some players jokingly expressing concern that 3DS players would disrupt the competitive gaming experience. However, many players were intrigued by the idea and expressed interest in trying out “Strike 2” on the 3DS themselves.

While playing “Strike 2” on the 3DS may not offer the ideal gaming experience, it showcases the creativity and determination of gamers to enjoy their favorite titles in unexpected ways. As technology continues to evolve, who knows where else “Strike” or other games may pop up next.
