Kia has released the first teaser images of its upcoming EV3, which aims to make Kia’s electric mobility more accessible. The images showcase the bold, geometric and robust aspects of the exterior design and emphasize the dynamic lines. Highlighted are the angular rear fenders and tailgate as well as the characteristic “Star Map” lighting, which give the vehicle a futuristic identity.
The design of the EV3 is based on the same principles as Kia’s flagship SUV EV9. What’s particularly important about the upcoming car, which can be seen as a smaller version of the EV9, is the price point – it’s expected to start at under $30,000. Further details such as range and features remain to be seen – and also when the car will be available in Europe.

Aiming to expand the accessibility of electric mobility following the launch of the award-winning Kia EV6 and EV9 models, the EV3 is a compact but fully featured electric SUV that delivers outstanding performance by integrating innovative technologies. The EV3 is intended to expand Kia’s range of electric vehicles and bring the customer experience of the flagship models to the compact SUV segment.
The new Kia EV3 will go on sale later this year following its world premiere, which will be broadcast live on the Kia Worldwide YouTube channel on May 23 at 7:00 p.m. KST (12:00 p.m. CET). “The EV3 will accelerate the global transition to electric vehicles by providing a more accessible solution for customers considering switching to electric mobility,” Kia’s press release said.
