Residents of the USA were treated to a rare celestial event as a fireball streaked across the sky in the early hours of the morning. The fast-moving lights were visible in most of the region, sparking speculation among residents about what could have caused the phenomenon.
Experts from the SETI Institute later revealed that the mysterious lights were actually the remains of the Chinese orbital module Shenzhou 15, which was launched into space in November 2022 with three astronauts onboard. The spacecraft had spent six months on the Tiangong space station before re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere, creating the spectacular display.
The Shenzhou 15 expedition, which included astronauts Fei Junlong, Deng Qingming, and Zhang Lu, witnessed various activities during their time in orbit, including the arrival of cargo ships and manned spacecraft. The successful mission culminated in the return of the astronauts to Earth, marking a significant milestone in China’s space exploration efforts.
Meanwhile, residents in Portugal also witnessed a similar phenomenon as a fireball lit up the sky in the early morning hours. The rock, originating from an asteroid, entered the Earth’s atmosphere at a high speed, creating a dazzling display that was visible over a large area of the Iberian territory.
Both events serve as a reminder of the wonders of the universe and the ongoing efforts to explore and understand the mysteries of outer space.
