Probably someone still keeps one in their memory drawer. This is the Nokia 3210, the best-selling phone, released just twenty-five years ago. A technological era ago, when SMS represented the embryonic form of chats, the connection was GSM, tariff plans were pay-as-you-go and rings were our curse and delight. The 3210 in particular had introduced some innovations that made its fortune: it was pocket-sized, with an integrated antenna, the T9 easy writing system and integrated games (including the mythological “snake”). An economical and indestructible mobile phone that winked at young people, even being able to customize the ringtone and choose the favorite cover.

A quarter of a century later HDM Global, the manufacturer of Nokia products, brings the 3210 back to stores with an updated version that keeps up with the times. An operation that goes beyond the nostalgia effect, given that the brand has already marketed its old glories, including the 8210, the 2660 flip, the 6300 and others. The goal is to offer devices that offer the essentials, underlining the importance of giving priority to authentic interactions.
The new 3210 has an almost identical design to its ancestor, but is updated with a 2.4 inch color LCD display, a 2 megapixel camera on the back with flash and the 4G module to also connect to the web and use applications in Lite versions between including YouTube, weather and breaking news. The internal memory is 128 MB (expandable with microSD) and there is a headphone jack, with the possibility of playing MP3 files and listening to FM radio. There is also Bluetooth 5.0, a USB Type-C port and a 1450 mAh (removable) battery. The updated version of the Snake could not be missing either. The price of Nokia 3210 4G is €79.9: the device can be purchased via the official HMD website.
