Three services to simply blur faces in photographs

On social media, privacy and security are fundamental for many users, especially when it comes to photographs and videos: for this reason, for example, Instagram has implemented security measures in recent months. But how to blur a face in a photograph before uploading it to social media?

There are numerous reasons why you might want to blur a face from a photograph, ranging from preserve children’s privacy to avoiding making your identity, that of a partner or a friend, known. In short, there are many reasons: this is why we want to point out to you three apps which will make it super easy to preserve your online privacy by blurring your face.

The first is Canva. Canva needs no introduction, since it is one of the most used web apps by creatives, social media managers, students and video and photo editors around the world. To blur a face using Canva, simply open the service’s dedicated Photo Blur page, upload your image and select the area you want to blur and the intensity of the blur. Canva also allows you to blur both a detail of a photograph and the entire image.

Another very useful tool is VistaCreate, which – exactly like Canva – is accessible via the appropriate web app from any web browser. To blur a photograph you simply have to upload it to VistaCreate and then select “edit image”. Once this is done, you can scroll in the left sidebar to advanced effects, then select “blur” and fix it slider depending on your preference. Unlike Canva, therefore, you will not be able to blur a single detail of the photo!

If, however, you are more experienced and, perhaps, already own a subscription to the Adobe suite of programs, Photoshop could be the perfect solution for you. Photoshop has a variety of blur effects, which you can see in the blur settings in the “Filters” menu. Additionally, the app specifically features blurring options think for the face and eyes.
