This Sunday, Melgar beat Sport Boys 2-1 at home, in a match on date 14 of the Peru – Liga 1 Te Apuesta 2024 tournament. The first half saw Melgar taking the lead after 37′, after a header . However, Sport Boys responded in the second half with a goal from Jesús Barco to level the score in the 30th minute. The comeback was completed in the 33rd minute of the same stage. Bernardo Cuesta showed his skill by putting the ball in the net with a header, establishing the final 2-1.

In the 30th minute of the second stage, Jesús Barco raised the spirits of Sport Boys and won all the applause. Cristian Techera handled the ball with a center and the midfielder defined it with a strong shot from the large area.
