Both teams performed well throughout the tournament. Japan was runner up in Group B behind Korea, but performed solidly in the knock out phase. The Sunrise Team overcame the resistance of hosts Qatar and Iraq to advance to 2024 U-23 Asian Cup Final.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan is unbeaten so far in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. Being the perfect winner of Group D, the White Wolves beat Saudi Arabia and Indonesia to get to the top match.
The final match will be a new history for the winner. Japan and Uzbekistan will become the first teams to collect more than one U-23 Asian Cup title.
