There was a bicycle accident on the Berner Tour shortly before 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. As the police said, the cyclists were driving from Radelfingen towards Aarberg when three of them fell in a left-hand bend.

A woman and a U17 driver were injured in the accident. The latter had to be flown to the hospital in a Rega helicopter; the woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

It is still unclear why the drivers fell. The police have started an investigation into the accident.

Race interrupted

The race was interrupted to rescue the injured. The elite field was stopped in the middle of a climb. After a good half hour, the drivers resumed the race with the distances that had been stopped when the race was interrupted.

No ranking lists were created for the remaining categories because the race jury judged the races to be irregular due to the interruptions and different waiting times.
