About 200 foreigners, including Americans, left Afghanistan on Thursday on a commercial flight from Kabul. The flight was reportedly operated with the collaboration of the Taliban and represents the first “mass” departure since US forces completed their frantic retreat.

The turning point between US-Taliban relations

The Qatar Airways flight to Doha therefore marked a turning point in the difficult coordination between the United States and the new rulers of Afghanistan. Guterres (UN): maintain dialogue with the Taliban

“We must maintain a dialogue with the Taliban, where we directly affirm our principles, a dialogue with a feeling of solidarity towards the Afghans”. Wali Massoud: we will drive out the Taliban, Panshir is not lost

«Anyone who knows the Panshir valley knows that checking the small road that runs into the valley bottom does not mean taking the Panshir. The region is made up of a myriad of side basins, where most of the villages are located. The Panshir did not fall. The Taliban may dream it and the world may believe it, but it is false. The pro-Russian Kemalist regime came to control the road, the Soviets did the same and even the Taliban of the first emirate managed to penetrate the valley and take the road. All the same as what is happening today. But then, the mujahideen have always managed to drive out the invader ». Wali Massoud, brother of the “lion of Panshir” killed in an attack in September 2011 two days before the attack on the Twin Towers, says this in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
