This Tuesday (12), Cuiabá begins a series of crucial matches, starting with the clash against Portuguesa-RJ, valid for the second phase of the Copa do Brasil. The game is scheduled for 7pm, at the Luso-Brasileiro stadium, in Rio de Janeiro.
How will Cuiabá make this decision?
The qualifier will be determined in a single match, and unlike the previous phase, in the event of a draw in regular time, the decision will be decided on penalties.
For this match, interim coach Luiz Fernando Iubel has practically his maximum strength, except for the absence of midfielder Denilson, who remains off the list due to physical issues. Denilson has not been on the field since January 27th, when he faced Dom Bosco. The auriverde team arrived in Rio de Janeiro last Sunday, concluding their preparation on Monday morning at the Fluminense CT.
The likely lineup for the match includes: Walter; Matheus Alexandre, Marllon, Bruno Alves and Ramon; Lucas Mineiro, Guilherme Madruga and Lucas Fernandes; Derik Lacerda, Pitta and Deyverson. If they advance against Portuguesa-RJ, Cuiabá will wait for the CBF draw to find out their opponent in the third phase of the Copa do Brasil.
And at State?
The Mato Grosso Football Federation (FMF) announced the dates, times and locations of the semifinal clashes of the Mato Grosso Championship. In the first group, Mixto and União will face each other, while in the second, Luverdense and Cuiabá will compete for the other place in the final.
Due to Cuiabá’s commitment to the round of 16 of the Copa Verde, scheduled for the 24th (Sunday), the return match against Luverdense was rescheduled for Wednesday (27th).
The first games will take place this weekend. On Saturday, Mixto and União will face each other at 3:30 pm at Arena Pantanal. On Sunday, Luverdense and Cuiabá will begin the dispute for a place in the final at 5 pm, at Passo das Emas.
