The president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), called Felipe Neto “ill-mannered” this Friday the 26th, one day after calling the Legislative Police against the influencer for having been classified as “excremental”.

“Freedom of expression is confused with the right to offend, defame and insult”, wrote Lira on X (formerly Twitter). “That’s what Mr Felipe Neto did in a seminar at the Chamber, a public medium for a good debate, but which he used to make fun of and gain media and likes.”

Also on X, Felipe Neto reacted to the investigation opened by the police. “I have suffered attempts to silence people using the police before, including by the Bolsonaro family,” he said. “I will continue facing this entire group as long as I have the strength left. And I never said I would face them with flowers, nor did I and I never will.”

The case occurred last Tuesday 23rd, during a hearing in the Chamber. At the time, the youtuber criticized the shelving of Bill 2630/2020, known as the Fake News PL.

“We need to talk more, communicate more, talk to the people more, invite the people more to participate”, argued Neto. “We fundamentally need to change our perception of what a Bill like 2,630 is, which was unfortunately crushed by the excremental Arthur Lira.”
