After ordering civilians to evacuate, Israel bombed 50 Hamas targets in Rafah

Israel carries out intense airstrikes in Rafah, Gaza Strip

Israel’s war cabinet has unanimously decided to press ahead with an operation in Rafah in order to exert military pressure on Hamas and advance the release of hostages and other war objectives. The Prime Minister’s Office stated that Hamas’ latest truce offer does not meet Israel’s demands.

The Israeli Armed Forces have reported bombing over 50 targets of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Rafah, preparing for the entry of ground forces into the area. An evacuation order affecting around 100,000 Palestinians has been issued as part of a large-scale offensive against the region.

The UN has expressed concern over the mass evacuation order, stating that it is impossible to carry out safely and that the United Nations is not participating in any involuntary evacuations. The move comes after Hamas terrorists launched a rocket killing three soldiers.

Meanwhile, Hamas has accepted a ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip put forward by Qatar and Egypt. However, the Israeli government is examining the proposal, stating that it is not the framework previously agreed upon and includes far-reaching conclusions that Israel cannot accept.

The Israeli plan to invade Rafah has raised global alarm over the risk it poses to the Palestinian civilians sheltering there. The situation continues to develop as both sides consider their next steps in the ongoing conflict.
