Al-Hilal, by Jorge Jesus, is the Saudi champion with three rounds to spare

O Al-Hilal is the big champion of Saudi Championship. Confirmation of the title came this Saturday (11), when the team beat Al Hazm 4-1, in Riyadh, in the 31st round of the competition. Mitrovic (2x), Al-Jowayed (own) and Milinkovic-Savic scored the goals for the home team. Selemani did it for the visitors.

With three rounds left until the end of the competition, Al-Hilal can no longer be caught by Al-Nassr, second in the standings. Jorge Jesus’ team reached 89 points, 12 more than Cristiano Ronaldo’s team.

With nine points up for grabs, the opponent no longer has a chance of becoming champion. The teams will even duel against each other in the next round of the Saudi, which takes place next Friday (17).

Now the current three-time champion of the Saudi Championship, the Al-Hilal reached its 19th title. The team of Jorge Jesus and Neymar is the greatest champion in the history of the tournament.

Al Hazm, in turn, breathes on equipment. The team is bottom of the competition with 20 points, nine points behind Abha – the first team outside the relegation zone.

To avoid falling, they will have to win the next three games, and hope that the opponents above them in the table lose in every round. The team faces Al-Riyadh in the next round.

Al Hilal opened the scoring in the first half, at 15 minutes. Mitrovic, from a penalty kick, scored the champions’ first goal. However, at 34, Al Hazm tied the game with Selemani.

But the bottom team’s happiness was short-lived, as, in the 39th minute, he conceded the second goal of the game. Al-Jowayed played against his own team and put Al-Hilal back in front of the scoreboard.

The other two goals in the rout also came in the first half, both in stoppage time. In the 48th minute, Mitrovic, for the second time in the game, scored the leader’s third. Milinkovic-Savic, three minutes later, scored Al-Hilal’s fourth and final goal of the match.

In second half stoppage time, in the 46th minute, Al Hazm scored their second goal of the game. However, the referee, after reviewing the VAR, saw a foul in the play and disallowed the goal.
