Alex Fiva scored his 4th podium of the season in Bakuriani on Saturday. On the Georgian snow, the Grison was only beaten by the Swede David Mobärg and the German Florian Willmsmann. However, he is gaining valuable points in the Globe rankings, where he is only 21 points behind Canadian Reece Howden. Jonas Lenherr and Ryan Regez made it through to the small final to finish 6th and 8th. Alex Marro came out in the quarters, while Tobias Baur and Marc Bischofberger had to admit defeat in the 8th.
Fall and 4th place for Talina Gantenbein
Among the women, Talina Gantenbein, already strong in qualifying and confident after her first podium in two years at Alleghe, narrowly missed the box. Best Swiss in 4th place, she fell in the final after being unbalanced in a jump and got up limping. Sistine Cousin and Saskja Lack finished 5th and 6th in a competition where several athletes were missing among the skiers.
Marielle Thompson scored the 28th victory of her career to take the lead in the general classification. Her compatriot Brittany Phelan and Frenchwoman Marielle Berger Sabbatel follow in 2nd and 3rd place.
