Pereira defended his UFC light heavyweight world title for the first time. Previously, Pereira won the title when he won by TKO over defending champion Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295, 11 November.

This victory is quite impressive. The reason is, this is the first time Pereira has successfully defended his world title at UFC. Previously in the middle class, the 36 year old fighter failed to defend his title after being defeated by Israel Adesanya.

“I beat him using a left punch. Hill is a strong fighter, so I couldn’t leave the strategy that had been prepared. I kept throwing kicks, I was able to maintain the distance and time my punches right,” said Pereira.

After the fight, Alex Pereira was not satisfied with only being world middleweight and light heavyweight champion. The Brazilian fighter wants to win the UFC heavyweight title.
