In the morning, the 28-year-old became the father of a girl named Emma.
Only hours later, he became the match winner when he scored the decisive goal for Villarreal three minutes into extra time.
– A magical day, writes Sørloth in a message to VG.
On Instagram, the national team striker has posted a picture of him celebrating as the Brazilian Bebeto did in the football World Cup in 1994.
He celebrated both with the cradle and putting his thumb in his mouth.
– With love, to Emma, wrote Villarreal on Instagram.
Villarreal writes that Sørloth chose to travel with the team to the away game on the southeast coast, despite the fact that he had been given permission to stay at home as a result of the birth.
In March, Alexander Sørloth told VG that he had made a plan with his partner Lena Selnes if the birth collided with a match: Show up for games as usual!
– It’s just a matter of getting the delivery bag ready and preparing the hospital when the time starts to approach, said Sørloth.

Alexander Sørloth now stands with 15 goals in 28 games in La Liga. Only Artem Dovbryk (Girona, 18 goals), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid, 16 goals) and Ante Budimir (Osasuna, 16 goals).
The victory means that Villarreal climbs to 9th place in the table.
