Alexander Stubb leads the Finnish presidential election
The conservative coalition party’s presidential candidate, Alexander Stubb, gets 27.3 percent on the Finnish public broadcaster YLE’s first forecast, based on the advance votes cast, and sails up as the clear favorite to take over as Finnish president.
– It feels incredibly good. I just want to say a big thank you, says Alexander Stubb to YLE from his election vigil.
The independent candidate, Pekka Haavisto gets 25.8 percent and is likely to follow Stubb to round two.
Jussi Halla-aho from Sannfinnenne seems to have a long way to the presidential palace in the survey. He ends up at 16.1 percent.
