For many, Anette Hoff has become a popular actress in this country. For 19 years, she was the face of the soap opera “Hotel Cæsars” with the character Juni Anker-Hansen.
Many got a relationship with what was to become Scandinavia’s longest-running soap series. In 2017, the year-long drama series came to an end and the last episode was broadcast.
She started her career at the National Theater in 1985 and has worked as a freelance actor since 1989. In 1999 she received the Gullruten for best TV actor, and in 2010 she received the honorary award together with fellow actor Sossen Krogh.
All the way she has played theater in addition to “Hotel Cæsar”, but after the series had its last season, she has also been seen in the Netflix success “Hjem til jul”, “Pørni” on Viaplay and several other productions. In addition, she records audiobooks.
Recently, Hoff, together with the rest of the family, premiered a play. Together with Nils Ole Oftebro, Jacob Oftebro and Jonas Hoff Oftebro (27), they play in Eugene O’Neill’s family drama Long day’s journey towards night at Oslo Nye Teater in 2024.

Shared new career notice
In January, however, the popular actress shared that she was going to throw herself into completely new challenges as one of the participants in TV 2’s new reality series “The Game”.
In “The Game”, twelve famous faces compete against each other where they are transported to a secret destination, without knowing what they are going to do and which rules apply. They will live together for 12 days and be filmed around the clock.
According to TV 2 the game must be unfair and challenging and the participants themselves decide who has to leave the villa. Sisteman who remains will receive a sum of money that has been earned through participation, a press release states.
Of the other participants who are there, we can single out Erik Thorstvedt (61), Line Andersen (50), Steffen Eriksen (59) and Vidar Magnussen (46).

The participation will also be a reality debut for the actor who has only participated in “4 star dinner” before.
– It’s the only reality show I’ve done. So it will be my debut in a way. I’ve mostly been on TV in one character. Now I am me. It’s much scarier, much worse and I can’t hide behind the fact that the author has written it like that, explained Hoff TV 2.
There were therefore mixed feelings behind the upcoming debut.
– It’s scary, because I can get into situations where I want to show sides of myself that you might not want to do if you thought about it.
Breaks down in the first episode
Friday 23 February is the final premiere of TV 2’s new venture. “The game” has its TV premiere tonight, but is already available on TV 2 Play.
And already in the first episode it will probably be so dramatic.
The contestants had agreed to vote blank in the first voting process, but someone betrays her and she becomes the first person to leave the reality show.
Hoff thus collapses. In a new interview with TV 2 she reveals the reason behind the tears.

– There are so many thoughts involved. I thought: “I’m the oldest, they don’t want an old lady like me.” I’m unpopular. Why me? They just want to have fun, the young ones”. There were a thousand thoughtsshe explains to TV 2 but points out that she now understands the choice was random.
The fact that the participants did not know what the program was about before taking part was an additional challenge for Hoff.
– Another reason why I reacted is, as I said, this enormous shock, you barely get to participate – you also get kicked out. It is simply a shockshe says and describes the participation as an emotional roller coaster for the channel.
So sad that you are the first lady out, Anette! I was looking forward to seeing you in the program.
But you never know with this game, maybe you’ll get back in?
