At midnight, the mediation deadline for the wage settlement between Trade and Office and Work expires. If it ends with a strike, 3,000 new workers will join from Saturday.
Monday at midnight the deadline for the mediation in the wage settlement between Handel og Kontor (HK) and Virke expires. If they do not agree, there will be a strike from Tuesday morning. Then 4,256 HK members stop working.
On Saturday, they can be joined by 2,986 new members, HK reports on its website. They work in 183 companies in many different industries. As many as 650 of them work in various publishers, including Cappelen Damm, Gyldendal and Aschehoug.
This means that more than 7,000 HK members may be on strike from Saturday morning.
See the overview at the bottom of the case.
Such a second strike will probably put further pressure on the employers during the mediation.
HK will not comment on that. On website say The union writes that they cannot speak to the press during mediation.
