Apple in Thailand warns dissidents: “The state is spying on you”

For the first time, Apple takes the field alongside dissidents against an authoritarian state. In recent times, the mobile phone giant has communicated to dozens of political activists in Thailand that their cell phones have been wiretapped and are likely being spied on by hackers serving the Bangkok government. These are opposition demonstrators who have been demonstrating for months for a reduction of the powers of the Thai monarchy, a subject previously taboo in their country.
