Arema FC reap positive results when entertaining Persija Jakarta in continuation Liga 1. Singo Edan pounced on the Kemayoran Tigers with a score of 3-2.

At the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Monday (26/2/2024), three goals were scored in the first half. Arema FC scored two goals, the Capital team scored one goal.

Persija took the lead in the 12th minute. Marko Simic scored the goal for Persija with a header, using a pass from Dony Tri Pamungkas.

Arema were able to equalize in the 20th minute. Dedik Setiawan got his name on the scoreboard following a pass from Charles Lokolingoy.

Dedik brought Arema back in front in the 36th minute. Persija player, Firza Andika, fouled Dendi Santoso in the penalty box, the referee pointed to the spot. Dedik was able to execute the ball into a goal.

In the second half, Persija was able to equalize in the 56th minute. Marko Simic scored again for Thomas Doll’s team in the 56th minute, this time it was Rio Mastsumura’s pass which Simic finished with a header to equalize.

Two minutes later, Persija had to play with 10 players. Muhammad Ferrari committed a foul on Lokolingoy which was towards the goal, he got a red card.

In a free kick situation, Arema could actually break through Persija’s goal again. However, there was a handball made by Dendi before hitting the ball into the goal.

Arema finally regained the lead in the 78th minute. Lokolingoy completed a breakthrough pass from Arkan Fikri with a well-directed kick. In the remainder of the match there were no additional goals, Arema won with a final score of 3-2.

With the addition of these three points, Arema FC has temporarily escaped the red zone. They have collected 27 points, and are in 15th position in the League 1 standings. Arema’s points achievement is the same as Persita, but the Cisadane Warriors have not yet played their 26th week.

Meanwhile, Persija is locked in 12th position in the League 1 standings. They are locked at 32 points.
