Tire size approved, exhaust changed? The police check vehicles that are on the way to “Tuning World Bodensee”. The trade fair shows more than 1,000 tuned cars in Friedrichshafen.
On the occasion of the “Tuning World Bodensee” trade fair in Friedrichshafen, the police checked arriving vehicles on Thursday morning. Among other things, on federal highway 31 near Eriskirch, tuned, i.e. technically modified, cars were apparently checked for violations. Last year, around 170 illegal modifications to vehicles were discovered during inspections. 33 cars were seized.
Is the tire size approved and the exhaust changed? Is the car making too much noise? There were numerous complaints last year.
“Tuning World Bodensee” with 1,000 cars
Sophisticated cars, lowered chassis, special paintwork, spoilers and additionally installed turbo chargers: around 1,000 tuned cars are at the trade fair “Tuning World Bodensee” to see. It is open until Sunday at the exhibition center in Friedrichshafen. Trade fair boss Klaus Wellmann is hoping for a new visitor record: “This year the trade fair will occupy the entire area with twelve exhibition halls and the outdoor area. I am assuming 80,000 to 100,000 people.”
Prizes for the most beautiful cars – but also unusual ones
The range of cars on display is huge. In addition to classics from Ferrari, Porsche and Mercedes, American muscle cars, tuned electric vehicles and racing cars can also be seen. In addition to cars and accessories, there are also exhibitors offering more exotic things. Anthony Abrandis from Laupheim in the Biberach district shows tuned riding lawn mowers. “We use it to race lawn mowers,” says Abrandis. He enjoys tinkering and technology.
Police will check until Sunday
Traffic jams and increased traffic are expected around the trade fair until Sunday. The police are also carrying out checks again.
