Bali United successfully achieved a 2-0 victory over PSIS Semarang. Serdadu Tridatu shifted PSIS from third place in the 2023/2024 Liga 1 standings.
In the match which took place at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Friday (8/3/2024) night, PSIS appeared dominant. However, their final solution was sluggish.
In contrast to Bali United, they managed to take advantage of opportunities to produce goals. Bali United’s two winning goals were scored by Ilija Spasojevic and Mohammed Rashid.

Bali United coach Stefano Cugurra made changes to the team formation. Luthfi Kamal, Yabes Roni, Haudi Abdilla and Ardi Idrus played as starters.
The Course of the Match
At the start of the first half, Laskar Mahesa Jenar immediately launched an attack on the Bali United defense line. Direct passes to the front of goal endangered Bali United several times.
The hosts received a penalty in the 26th minute. Lucas Gama’s sweep actually hit Andhika Wijaya’s leg which stabbed into the penalty box. Ilija Spasojevic, who stepped forward as executor, carried out his duties well.
Left behind, PSIS responded by appearing to attack. They dominated the match.
The visiting team had a chance through Lucas Gama’s header from a free kick. However, his header was blocked by Adilson Maringa.
PSIS’s efforts to score an equalizer were fruitless until the break. The score 1-0 for Bali United lasted until the end of the first half.
After the break, Bali United was able to steal the second goal from Mohammed Rashid’s free kick. Rashid’s kick from the right side nestled into the right corner of the PSIS goal.
After that, Bali United chose to play waiting. PSIS had a chance from Evan Dimas. His shot from close range was still blocked by Maringa.
Maringa made another save in the final minute. This time, he was able to parry a shot from Gali Freitas.
PSIS failed to score even though they continued to lock down Bali United’s defense line. This victory made Serdadu Tridatu shift PSIS’ position to third with 48 points. They are two points ahead of Mahesa Jenar in fourth position.
