Irish artist Bambie Thug is calling for Israel to be kicked out of the competition. The reason is comments the Israeli national broadcaster KAN made before Bambie Thug’s semi-final performance.
Heksa believes these comments break Eurovision’s rules, and that this is reason enough to disqualify Israel from tonight’s final.
– There is much more anger and much more drive in me now, says Bambie Thug in an interview with Irish RTÉ News.
Before Bambie Thug’s performance on Tuesday, one of the Israeli commentators warned that Bambie Thug’s performance would be “the scariest of the night”. The commentator also pointed out that the song had caused “some controversy” in Ireland, and pointed to a petition calling for a submission other than Bambie Thug.
The commentator then pointed out that Bambie Thug likes to “talk negatively about Israel”.

Eurovision organizer EBU confirms it has discussed the comments with Israeli broadcaster KAN.
– We emphasized the importance of all commentators respecting all the artists participating in the competition, and that they follow the rules, the statement says.
Bambie Thug himself says that the comments will give more anger and motivation before tonight’s finale.
– I am angry that other participants break the rules of the EBU, and are still allowed to participate.

Bambie Thug himself has made headlines in the run-up to this year’s Eurovision final.
Before the first semi-final, the writing on the artist’s face should have spelled out a message of truce. Part of the costume is face paint consisting of the old Irish written language and him.
But a message about a ceasefire is, in the EBU’s opinion, too political, and they are said to have therefore ordered the Irishman to change the writing.
