Barron Trump addresses the legacy

Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Trump, is ready to enter politics for the first time.

So far, the 18-year-old has stayed away from the political limelight, while he has concentrated on his studies.

On Wednesday night, however, Barron Trump was chosen by Florida’s Republican Party as one of the state’s delegates to the Republican National Convention, according to a delegate list that NBC News have gained access to.

“We have a great delegation of grassroots leaders, elected officials and even members of the Trump family,” Florida Republican Party Chairman Evan Power told NBC.

Barron will serve as one of 41 delegates from Florida during the national convention, a role that marks his most high-profile political engagement to date.

In a family with many politically active siblings, the graduate has managed to maintain a much more private life than his older brothers, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., both of whom will also be delegates from Florida during the national Republican convention, writes NBC.

The National Assembly is what formally chooses the party’s presidential candidate, who will be Donald Trump (77). The opposing candidate in the presidential election itself in November will be the Democrats’ presidential candidate, Joe Biden (81).

Supports candidacy

Donald Trump has won the Florida presidential election twice, including by more than 3 percentage points in his unsuccessful 2020 re-election bid, and the state party has largely endorsed his candidacy this year, even before he is officially nominated.

The party faced a challenge this year since Governor Ron DeSantis was also running. Despite their own governor entering the race, party leaders in Florida have signaled they would support Trump.

In addition to members of the Trump family, the Republican Party of Florida endorsed several of the former president’s top supporters as delegates.
