Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel was angry with the refereeing after the 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. According to the coach, the referee failed to award a penalty to the Bavarians in an unusual move.

Tuchel complains that Brazilian Gabriel Magalhães put his hand on the ball after David Raya took the goal kick.

The referee made a big mistake. There was a penalty for ball in hand. It was a crazy situation: they put the ball on the ground, the referee blows the whistle and the defender catches the ball in his hand.”
The coach also revealed the referee’s explanation for the move and did not agree.
“
What really irritated us was the explanation on the field. He told us it was a ‘childish mistake’ and that he won’t give a penalty like that in the Champions League quarter-finals.”

“It’s a horrible explanation. Childish mistake, adult mistake, whatever. We were angry because it was a big decision against our team,” he said.
