BAYERN Munich won 2-0 over Wolfsburg in Week 33 of the Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena, Sunday (12/5) evening WIB.

Even though they were without Harry Kane, Die Roten managed to win thanks to goals scored by Lovro Zvonarek and Leon Goretzka.

The additional three points make Bayern sit in second place in the Bundesliga standings with 72 points. Meanwhile, Wolfsburg, which is safe from the threat of relegation, is in 12th place with 37 points.

Bayern only needed four minutes to take the lead thanks to Zvonarek’s goal. The Croatian midfielder received Alphonso Davies’ cross then fired a low shot which hit the post before finding the back of the Wolfsburg goal, which was guarded by Koen Casteels. The score became 1-0 in favor of Bayern over Wolfsburg.

This goal was Zvonarek’s first goal for Bayern Munich when he first played as a starter.

The hosts’ lead increased to 2-0 in the 13th minute. Thomas Mueller, who received the rebound from Wolfsburg’s back line sweep, then played a short pass to Goretzka, who shot into the top right corner to rattle the Casteels goal.

Bayern almost increased their lead in the 18th minute after Bryan Zaragoza broke through Wolfsburg’s goal. However, the referee disallowed the goal after Video Assistant Raferee stated that Mueller was already in an offside position when the goal occurred.

Wolfsburg tried to reduce the distance, but Patrick Wimmer’s long-range shot in the 22nd minute was saved by Manuel Neuer.

In the second half, Bayern had a chance through Bryan Zaragoza’s close-range shot in the 56th minute, but this time Casteels managed to thwart it.

After that, no more goals were scored until the match ended. Thomas Tuchel’s team closed the match with a 2-0 win. (Ant/Z-1)
