The case

Mason Greenwood, Manchester United striker on loan at Getafe, was arrested at the end of January 2022, accused by the model of assault and sexual violence. Released, he allegedly tried to contact the victim months later, being detained once again.

In February 2023, Greenwood had all charges of sexual violence and attempted rape dropped by the prosecutor’s office and returned to the field months later, in September.

In a statement, Police Superintendent Michaela Kerr did not reveal the reasons behind the dropping of charges against Greenwood. She only said that he “no longer faces criminal charges” and that the decision was “not taken lightly.”
