Benigno Alarcón: Manuel Rosales is a factor of division of the opposition – El Nacional

by admin

In a recent interview with Walter Molina, the director of an electoral analysis group, he expressed his concerns about the current state of the opposition in Venezuela. Molina stated that the recent registration of Manuel Rosales as a presidential candidate has further divided the opposition and has jeopardized their chances of winning in the upcoming election.

According to Molina, Rosales’ candidacy has caused a rift within the opposition, with some groups supporting him while others believe he is not the right person to lead the opposition. This division could potentially weaken the opposition’s chances of presenting a united front against the current government.

Molina pointed out that Rosales’ candidacy has also affected the perception of the election’s competitiveness. Many Venezuelans are now viewing the election as less competitive, as they see Rosales as a polarizing figure who may not be able to gather enough support to defeat the current government.

In response to these concerns, Rosales stated that he would be willing to step aside in favor of another candidate, specifically mentioning María Corina Machado. He stated, “If María Corina can run, I will give her my candidacy.”

Despite Rosales’ willingness to step aside, it remains to be seen whether the opposition can overcome their differences and present a strong, unified front in the upcoming election. The Venezuelan people are eagerly awaiting the outcome of this election, which will have significant implications for the future of the country.
