BenQ W5800: The new 4K home cinema projector with laser source
The BenQ W5800 4K laser projector for home cinema is now available (unfortunately it arrived and was unveiled in India!).
BenQ recently launched its new projector in India, the W5800, designed specifically for home cinema. This 4K model offers brightness of up to 2,600 lumens, thanks to its laser light source. Notable features include 2D lens shift, Filmmaker mode, and a diverse range of ports including HDMI eARC/ARC.
This model has been specifically designed for an immersive cinematic experience with a maximum image size of 200 inches (~500 cm). With its support for HDR10+, it delivers clear and vivid images, according to BenQ.
The W5800 delivers guaranteed brightness for 20,000 hours of use. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 and Rec.709 color gamuts and is calibrated for Delta E technology for advanced tone mapping.

Although it doesn’t feature built-in speakers, you can connect an external audio system via the S/PDIF port and HDMI ARC/eARC, with support for Dolby Atmos pass-through.

Other available ports include USB-A, RS-232, and LAN. In addition, BenQ assures that its new model operates quietly, generating noise of only 27 to 30 dB. The BenQ W5800 projector is available in India for Rs 6,50,000 (~$7,850). It remains to be seen whether the company plans to launch this model in Europe.
