Bilbao Blues Fest closes the lineup for its 3rd edition

Bilbao Blues Festival will return at the end of July, from July 25 to 28, to liven up the summer in the capital of Biscay. For four days the blues will flood the heart of the city with juicy free performances for all audiences. It has just completed the poster for its third edition with the additions of Southern Avenue, Annika Chambers, Terrie Odabi, Ivan Singh, Kid Carlos Band e Ibai García Blues Project. These artists join the bands and soloists already confirmed: The Fabulous Thunderbirds, D.K. Harrell, Ana Popovic, Big Yuyu, Martha High & The Soul Cookers, Anson Funderburgh, Mike Morgan y Shawn Pittman.

This new edition of the Bilbao Blues Festival will mark a milestone in the history of the event and the Town itself since, on its first day, on July 25, it will be the scene of the final of the state Blues Challenge. The four best bands on the current scene will compete to get a place in the European Blues Challenge, one of the most important international events of this musical genre. Carlos Malles, the director of the festival, comments that “We are very happy with the celebration of this state Challenge. On the one hand, because it is the first time that a final has been organized with live bands. And on the other hand, and the most important, because we managed to take another step to fulfill our objective of turning Bilbao into a benchmark for the Blues.”

The registration period will open on Monday, May 13 and will end on June 9. To introduce yourself it is essential fill out the following form. Starting on the 22nd, the names of the selected groups will be made public.
