One of country history’s greatest classics now comes in Norwegian uniform. The band’s vocalist, Anders, has done his translation of Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss’s Whiskey Lullaby and the result is ‘Sønderdrukken song’. With him on the team, they have got a big voice from Østfold, namely Oda Gondrosen. Earlier this winter, the band tested out an acoustic version on their TikTok that ended up catching fire in rural Norway, and after great demand from the people, the song is released on Good Friday itself. The guys say the following about the collaboration and the song: “It is no easy task to make a song that so many people have such a strong relationship with, but when Anders had written such a nice translation we had to give it a try. We have left our own mark on the song, while at the same time we have kept the same atmosphere as in the original Paisley. It is an important song with themes that can embrace both broad and narrow, and we hope the listener will get even closer to the text with this Norwegian interpretation.
