Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, has been diagnosed with intestinal obstruction, which requires transfer to Sao Paulo, where doctors will assess the need for emergency surgery. This was announced by the Secretariat for Communication of the Presidency of the Brazilian Republic in a note. Bolsonaro was admitted to the Brasilia Military Hospital at dawn for abdominal pain. The diagnosis was made by surgeon Antonio Luiz Macedo, who has been treating the president since he was injured with a stab during a public demonstration in 2018.
