Madura United performed brilliantly in Week 31 of Liga 1 2023/2024. Playing at the home of standings leaders Borneo FC Samarinda, Madura United managed to win 0-4. Madura United’s four goals were scored by Malik Risaldi, Francisco Rivera, Hugo Gomes and Bayu Gatra.

The Borneo FC vs Madura United match took place at the Batakan Stadium, Balikpapan, Wednesday (17/4/2024). The match was led by referee Yudi Nurcahya.

Madura United immediately threatened when the game had only been running for two minutes. Hugo Gomes sent a pass into the penalty box via a free kick. The ball was headed by Dalberto Belo, but was still secured by Nadeo.

Madura United got a golden opportunity through a beautiful corner kick scheme. Hugo Gomes sends the ball low to Rivera. The ball was then passed to Dalberto Belo who was standing free in the penalty box. Unfortunately, his hard kick still narrowly bounced off the goal.

The combination of Dalberto and Rivera again threatened the Borneo FC goal. Their one-two pass managed to free Dalberto into the penalty box. However, the execution was still thin to the left of Nadeo’s goal.

Borneo FC is not without opportunity. They had three consecutive opportunities through corner kicks in the 17th minute. However, all three have not produced results.

Madura United managed to take the lead in the 44th minute. Malik Risaldi put his name on the scoreboard after receiving Rivera’s breakthrough pass. Score 0-1.

Only a minute later, Malik got another golden opportunity. Unfortunately, his shot at the far post was still saved by Nadeo. The first half closed with a score of 0-1 in favor of Madura United.

Madura United doubled their lead in the 53rd minute. This time it was Rivera’s turn to break through the Borneo FC goal. He got a long ball from Cleberson before finally outwitting Nadeo. Score 0-2.

Madura United is getting further away. Laskar Sapeh Kerab scored the third goal in the 57th minute. Hugo Gomes tore the Borneo FC goal after receiving Rivera’s bait. Score 0-3.

Borneo FC had a golden opportunity in the 61st minute. Adam Alis sent the ball into the penalty box. In a free position, Hardianto’s header went wide of Madura United’s goal.

Borneo FC appeared more attacking at the end of the second half. Kei Hirose and colleagues obtained several opportunities.

Madura United again added to their goal tally at the end of the match. Madura United’s fourth goal was scored by Bayu Gatra using a pass from Rivera.
