Opseth was only one meter away from the ground record when she jumped 150 meters in the 2nd half and got a total of 229.8 points. She was deep, and her ass was almost in the ground, but she bailed out just fine. Then she won by 8.1 points down to Slovenia’s Nika Prevc, who had 146 meters in her second jump.
Japan’s Yuki Ito was third with 213.5 points.
Opseth stretched to 141.5 meters and led after the 1st half. The 24-year-old had good conditions and used the buoyancy masterfully. 108.5 points, and she led by 7.4 points down to Sara Takanashi. The Japanese jumped 138.5 meters. Nika Kriznar from Slovenia was third after 130 meters and 96.3 points.
Opseth had five World Cup victories so far in his career before the race in Willingen. The last one came on 13 March in Lillehammer last year. Her best result earlier this season also came in Lillehammer. There she finished fourth in the World Cup on 3 December.
Thea Minyan Bjørseth advanced on the lists after a cheeky second jump of 130.5 metres. 117 meters and 18th place after the 1st round became 14th place and 145.00 points after two jumps. There was a difference of 84.8 points to her teammate in 1st place.
